2. CONSTRUCTION INTEGRAL

Produced by Fokker Special Products (now part of Stork Fokker AESP Aerospace Group) utilizing a patented process consisting of two aluminum sandwich panels, one as roof and one as floor.  Both joined by a GRP C-shaped module which also serves as side wall.

3. DRIVELINE

The e-Traction® System consists of two TheWheel™ SM500/2 units installed with the original rear breaking system intact.  They receive their power from 28 12 VDC Lithium-Ion batteries, possibly augmented by super-capacitors, divided in 4 separate groups and compartments each having its own built in 220 VAC charger for overnight reconditioning using "green" electricity.

If necessary, the water-cooled TheWheel™ SM500/2 motors can be exchanged within less than two hours. Regenerative braking energy is stored in the Lithium-Ion traction batteries which can also be released quickly upon acceleration. Super-capacitors are being considered to aid in prolonging both the endurance and life of the batteries.

Generator

Variable speed, permanent magnet, with maximum output of 44 KW

1.9 Lt Volkswagen diesel motor with a Fisher Panda generator: 44 KW at 3,000 RPM
