Probably the most immediately notable benefit of the e-Traction® System is that the noise level will be substantially reduced. In the case of both the Whisper™ and the e-Traction® Bus a significant drop in the noise level was measured from 78 decibels to only 58. Just for a frame of reference below is a table illustrating the significance of this reduction:
This means that a conventional VDL Berkhof Ambassador 200 bus produces a noise level that is 100 times greater than its derivative: the Whisper™.
