Whether included in a newly designed or retrofitted bus, the economic of the e-Tractionฎ System benefits should quickly produce a very positive result - while the ecological benefits are immediate and immeasurable. A typical European city bus gets roughly 2 kilometers per liter (KML) and in North America the average hovers around 3.5 miles per gallon (MPG). In the Netherlands, these public transit buses annually drive on average 90,000 kilometers (or 56,250 miles) and use around 45,000 liters of diesel fuel (see Fuel Consumption Calculator). An identical bus powered by the e-Tractionฎ System will use only one third of the fuel (15,000 liters) and thus reduces harmful emissions minimally by 66.7%. This drop in CO2 emission amounts to an astounding 79.4 metric tons per year for each e-Tractionฎ powered bus (see Air Pollution) while preserving the same functionality. The lower operational expense and the enormous environmental benefits will therefore make the cost of the traction system seem insignificant (see Operational Efficiency).

Based on the TNO findings the fuel consumption of the Whisper has been estimated at 6 kilometers per liter of diesel fuel used by the on board generator. There will also be a nominal amount of fuel needed by the power company for producing to run the battery chargers at night.
If during the next 13 years the cost of diesel fuel were to remain at its current level of 1.00 per liter (in the Netherlands) an e-Tractionฎ powered bus using 15,000 liters per year would cost 195,000 in fuel to operate, which represents a savings of 390,000 compared to the conventional alternative. The Operational Efficiency is also impacted not only by the reduced cost of fuel but also the reduced cost of maintenance. The environmental impact of fuel savings and noise reduction of the a bus like the e-Tractionฎ Bus and Whisper is of a significant magnitude (see: Environmental Impact).
In addition, the 30,000 liters that are being saved per year represent a reduction in CO2 emission of 79.4 metric tons annually for each bus (see: Air Pollution).
