In April of 2002 e-Traction® applied TheWheel™ as key component to a technology demonstrator forklift truck for SKF. Not only did we provide TheWheel™ SM500/1FE and the electronic controls for this Hydraulic Free Operation (HFO) forklift-truck, we also designed and installed electric components needed to enable all other movements (steering and lifting) without the use of hydraulic fluids. The efficient use of power by the wheels combined with regeneration of power during braking and lowering of the load together enhanced battery endurance by more than 100%. |
